The Autumn Night Sky

The charts show the New Zealand night sky at the beginning of the months of March at 2am, April at midnight and May at 9pm, June at 7:00pm. The planet Saturn is slowly moving westward and its position is shown for April 1st

It simulates the night sky as seen from a dark sky site well away from city lights. There are two views of the night sky: one looking due south and the other due north.  Use the controls at the bottom left of the chart
to pause the animation if required. (Flash Player Required)
