Dark Sky Awareness - approaches in the UK and NZ

Workshop at Carter Observatory (Botanic Gardens, Kelburn) 20th of

February 2010 10:00 am to 1:00 pm


Dark Sky Awareness has been a very successful feature of International Year of Astronomy 2009 in several countries. This workshop will look at approaches from the UK Dark Sky Discovery (UK DSD) programme and from New Zealand. It will be led by Dan Hillier from the Royal Observatory Edinburgh who leads UKDSD and also the Dark Sky Scotland programme on which it is based www.darkskyscotland.org.uk. It will be of special interest to astronomy and outdoor educators, teachers, communicators and tourism professionals.
